BANGLA DESH - GEORGE HARRISON
(1st August 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York City)

Where so many people are dying fast
And it sure looks like a mess
I've never seen such distress
Now won't you lend your hand and understand
Relieve the people of Bangladesh

Bangladesh, Bangladesh
Such a great disaster - I don't understand
But it sure looks like a mess
I've never known such distress
Now please don't turn away, I want to hear you say
Relieve the people of Bangladesh
Relieve Bangladesh

Bangladesh, Bangladesh
Now it may seem so far from where we all are
It's something we can't neglect
It's something I can't neglect
Now won't you give some bread to get the starving fed
We've got to relieve Bangladesh
Relieve the people of Bangladesh
We've got to relieve Bangladesh
Relieve the people of Bangladesh.

Farmers Are Not Happy With Bumper Potato Harvest

Bumper potato harvested in Bangladesh in this year. But the harvesters are not happy.

Cause of shortage of cold storage and high cost, most of them fear about loss. The owners of cold storages charge 350 taka / 4.375 USD for keeping per 80 Kilograms  potato in cold store. So the poor farmers are unable to store the potato.

As a result of bumper harvest the price is low here. At present potato is selling in local market at 10 taka / 0.125 USD per Kilogram (1 USD = 80 Taka).

They are looking for a foreign market to export the rest potato after fulfill country’s demand.
