First Time in Dhaka (Capital of Bangladesh) City


With a cost of Taka 8.4 millions for each bus, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation’s (BRTC) ten single-decked articulated buses hit the city streets at 20-02-2013 morning to ease severe transport problem and traffic-jam in the capital.

At city’s Farmgate bus stand-Obaidul Quader (Communications Minister) inaugurated the buses. 
Those buses will run on Motijheel-Joydevpur (Gazipue) route.

Each single-decked articulated bus can carry a large number of passengers at a time.
It would be able to carry 80 to 90 passengers, with the seating capacity 58 persons. The newly buses will bring a revolutionary change in transportation system- Obaidul Quader (Communications Minister) expressed his hope.

Indian company Ashok Leyland is the supplier of those buses. Another 40 buses will be brought within short time.
