Captain Makes History

Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper-captain (Mushfiqur Rahim) reached the Historic landmark-double century on the fourth day of the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle International Stadium. Mushfiq, the first Bangladeshi player who reached the landmark of 200 runs.  He is now only the 2nd wicketkeeper-captain to score a double century after India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni (scored 224) against Australia.

The spotlight was on Mohammad Ashraful when the fourth day’s play began needing just 11 to record Bangladesh’s first double-century in Test cricket. But he added just 1 to his last score before finally losing for 190.

Another middle-order batsman Nasir Hossain also batted well and has scored 100 runs on the fourth day of the this Test match

It was one of the most memorable facts in the country’s cricketing history.
